Opened in 2007, Promontory Financial Group France SAS’ Paris office expanded Promontory’s practice in Europe and the European Union (EU). The office serves clients throughout France and the EU.

Our operations in Paris are led by Pierre-Yves Thoraval. Mr. Thoraval is a 30-year veteran of the French Central Bank, including service as Deputy Secretary General of the French Banking Commission. The French Banking Commission is charged with protecting depositors as well as acting as watchdog over the French banking and financial system to ensure its profitability and financial stability.

Promontory’s operations in Paris have extended to work on behalf of clients in both the private and public sectors. Recent projects have included:

• Conducting an independent internal investigation of selected accounting transactions - over 10,000 accounting documents and over 250,000 emails and electronic documents located in the US and Europe - as recorded on the books and records of a leading global financial services company headquartered in France.
• Conducting a review of governance, management accountability and internal controls oversight of the New York Branch of a leading investment bank headquartered in Paris.
• Assisting a Middle Eastern central bank in the compilation and codification of its regulatory texts into a monetary and financial code.
• Assisting an Eastern European supervisor of banking institutions with its plan for the further development of a risk-based supervision process.
