Promontory Financial Group Australasia has been working with large financial services clients in Australia for many years. In September of 2009, Promontory established a Sydney office as a result of the demand for high quality regulatory and risk management advice from Australia’s banks, asset managers, and insurance companies.

Our Sydney team is led by Colleen Cassidy. Prior to joining Promontory, Ms. Cassidy led Ernst & Young’s regulatory practice in Sydney. Ms. Cassidy began her professional career with the Reserve Bank of Australia and joined the Australian Prudential Regulation Authority (APRA) when it was established in 1998. During her tenure at APRA in 2007, Ms. Cassidy led its review of liquidity management in authorised deposit-taking institutions. Ms Cassidy also held the roles of Head of Risk Models and Head of Balance Sheet and Market Risk. Ms. Cassidy was APRA’s inaugural representative on the Basel Committee’s Accord Implementation Group for Operational Risk and oversaw development of APRA’s accreditation framework for the Basel II Advanced Measurement Approach.

Promontory Sydney works closely with Promontory Financial Group Australasia, based in Singapore. Jeffrey Carmichael, who is CEO of the Singapore Office and the region, including Australia, was the inaugural Chairman of APRA and one of the architects of the Australian regulatory structure.
